What is an integrated psychopath?

The first time I heard of an integrated psychopath was in 2020 by Dr Inaki Pinuel.

We all have the misconception, thanks to Hollywood films, that a psychopath is a crazy-looking person who goes around killing people.

Well, our dear integrated psychopath is nothing like that. As the definition says, they are socially integrated. Usually in high positions and professions. They are the CEO of a company, an architect, a lawyer, a psychologist, a doctor, a politician and so on.

For an integrated psychopath, IMAGE is everything. Despite all the crimes he commits, his social image has to be intact. And he’ll do anything – manipulate and lie – to maintain that image of good, looking at no other means to achieve that end.

The integrated psychopath would be on the narcissistic spectrum (see post Narcissistic Spectrum). What differentiates them from a lower level to a higher level of disturbance is essentially their LACK OF EMPATHY.

Empathy is a quality that human beings possess, except psychopaths.

If they have no empathy, everything is allowed. So inflicting pain, suffering, abuse and violence on these individuals is absolutely nothing. And when we say they don’t empathise, it’s by default and applies to everyone, including their children.

This new version of psychopaths is very subtle and elaborate. They are graceful, eloquent, easy to fall in love with, helpful, caring and collaborative SOCIALLY SPEAKING. Within four walls, at home or in the office, they are perverse, negligent, aggressive, overbearing, controlling, highly manipulative, abusive (they often use sex in exchange for favours), promiscuous, seductive and misogynistic.

They commit crimes – without leaving marks – are physically and psychologically violent, forge, corrupt, steal, mistreat and abuse children. They’re addicted to pornography, they get into sado-masochistic sex games. In order to feel better, they have to inflict pain on others and in order to feel powerful, they exert control and domination over weaker people (including their children).

They dodge with great skill and neither forensic psychologists, psychiatrists nor magistrates can spot them. They manage to fool everyone with their victim speech, blaming those around them. Their speech is so moving that if we didn’t know about their dark side, we’d sympathise with them.

They play the victim, projecting the blame onto others. They don’t take responsibility for their actions. And do you know why their speech is always the same? Because it’s a pathology. In pathology, there is no creativity, only repetition. That’s why it can be categorised – in the DSM-5, the psychiatrists’ book – as a personality disorder.

Note: this is not a mental disorder, they function well cognitively, they can work well.

It’s a personality disorder, in other words, it’s a pathological way of functioning, without morality, without empathy and malicious.

And so this virus proliferates, with no effective vaccine yet to eliminate it.
